Title: One Date and a Sahabi's Lesson
During the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), one day a poor companion came to the mosque. He was extremely poor, yet his faith was unshakable. He came to the Prophet and said,
"O Messenger of Allah, I have nothing to give in charity. But I know the virtue of giving for the sake of Allah."
The Prophet (PBUH) replied,
"Allah knows your intention. But if you can give nothing else, give even a single date."
The companion went home and found only one date. Holding it in his hand, he returned to the mosque and presented it to the Prophet (PBUH), saying,
"O Messenger of Allah, this is all I have. Please accept it in the path of Allah."
The Prophet (PBUH) happily accepted the date and said,
"If you give this one date with sincerity, Allah will grant you Paradise for it."
Then he turned to the other companions and said,
"Give in the path of Allah. You don’t need wealth to give charity—what matters is true intention and sincerity."
---
Moral of the Story:
Even the smallest charity can be great in the sight of Allah if it is done with a sincere heart and purely for His pleasure.
---
Final Words:
The value of charity lies not in its amount, but in the intention behind it. If we do even one good deed daily with sincerity, Allah will place immense blessings in it.
